Campsites on the Cost Blanca in Spain

The white coast of Spain, the Costa Blanca, is one of the country's most popular coastal regions and home to some of its best campsites. The Costa Blanca, with towns such as Alicante, Benidorm and Murcia, boasts two-hundred kilometres of beautiful sandy beaches, and a campsite here is the perfect base for a variety of sporting and cultural activities.

Tips

•    Visit Guadelest castle, built by Muslims in the eleventh century and situated in the mountains around 25 kilometres from Benidorm
•    The atmospheric, historical town of Rojales, a hive of activity in all seasons
•    Alicante, a town of museums, churches and an impressive castle plus the old quarter of Santa Cruz, with its flower-lined streets

Camping in the sun

Campsites on the Costa Blanca are well-equipped and located just a stone's throw from a wide variety of interesting sights. The sun, warm temperatures, sea swimming, great excursions and local city tours are certain to attract campers to this region.

Sports enthusiasts are well catered for on Costa Blanca campsites, with cycling, hiking, golf, water sports and excursions.

If you don't wish to bring your own tent, caravan or motorhome, you will find that many campsites have accommodation available for hire.

Sights

With vibrant cities, sleepy villages, beautiful beaches and breath-taking mountains, the coast has something to suit every taste.

•    Cuevas del Canelobre
These caves in the mountains near Busot bear striking resemblance to a cathedral, and are a highly recommended day out

•    Casa de Pedrera
This activity park has something for holidaymakers of all ages, with horse-riding, quad biking, mountain biking, water-skiing and canoeing, plus great views of the Embalsa reservoir

•    Cycling along the Costa Blanca
Exploring the mountains by bike is a real adventure, but for a less strenuous ride there are flatter cycle routes along the coast

Climate

This region of Spain enjoys a Mediterranean climate and the least variable weather pattern anywhere in the country, with minimal precipitation and ample sunshine the whole year round. The winters are dry and mild with temperatures exceeding 15 degrees, and the summers are warm and dry with temperatures easily reaching 30 degrees. It's a popular holiday destination for winter guests.
